One step at a time - Lived experience videos
Lived Experiences
One Step at a Time aims to support others on their own cancer journey by sharing lived experiences, personal stories told by patients and their loved ones.
Created by patients for patients, the One Step at a Time team have produced a series of useful videos including:
Cancer diagnosis through the eyes of a patient - A cancer diagnosis can be devastating – and knowing where to turn in the wake of it can be overwhelming. Created by a patient with first hand experience of receiving a cancer diagnosis and treatment, this video presents a candid and heart felt view of how it felt to be diagnosed, and the importance of taking one step at a time.

A cancer journey through the eyes of a family member - For caring for a loved one with cancer can be an overwhelming experience, but there is support for you also. If you are or anyone you know is living with a cancer diagnosis, we'd urge you to view this video. We hope it provides a practical and realistic approach to cancer from a loved ones viewpoint.
Cancer and Covid - Since the pandemic, we have noticed that less people in our west Essex communities are coming forward for routine screenings or visiting their GPs with early cancer symptoms. We want to highlight this, because we are concerned that COVID-19 might be discouraging some of you coming forward. Our "One Step at a Time" team have produced this useful and informative video. Told through the eyes of a cancer patient, it explains their experience of attending their hospital appointment during COVID-19.
